Office Depot and the Office Depot Foundation recognize the vitally important work that teachers do every day as they educate our children and inspire them to learn. It’s common knowledge that teachers often spend money out of their own pockets for school supplies for their classrooms.
The Office Depot Foundation’s A Day Made Better Program is designed to recognize teachers’ commitment and support them in their continuing efforts to make a difference. Through A Day Made Better, Office Depot and OfficeMax store associates throughout the United States will visit Title I and similar high-need elementary schools in their communities in late 2014 and early 2015 to donate school supplies and other essential items for teachers to use in their classrooms. Each school will also receive fun items for their teachers to enjoy.
Not only does this program show our appreciation to teachers for their dedication and commitment to our children’s future, but it also provides opportunities for Office Depot and OfficeMax stores to create continuing relationships with their selected elementary schools.
A Day Made Better clearly aligns with the Office Depot Foundation’s key strategic priority of “giving children tools to succeed in school – and in life.” Existing Office Depot Foundation programs that support this priority include its signature National Backpack Program along with its Dream UP Career Exploration Program (in collaboration with USA TODAY) and its anti-bullying programs.
The Office Depot Foundation greatly appreciates Office Depot, OfficeMax, Disney Publishing Worldwide and First Book, Avery, Amax Incorporated and JKG Group for their generous donations in support of A Day Made Better. We are equally grateful to Feed the Children – a nationally prominent nonprofit organization that has partnered with the Office Depot Foundation for many years to help children and families in the United States and internationally – for its assistance in carrying out the 2014 A Day Made Better Program.
